 IRSPA meets the second Friday of each month from September through May at 10:00 A. M. at the First Christian Church, 210 East Sixth Street,
 Irving, Texas.
 If you have not already done so, please send your dues to Darlene Brown, 505 Lincolnshire Drive., Irving, TX 75061-6441.
    TRTA dues for 2006-2007:       $25
    IRSPA local dues:                      $10
    Total dues for TRTA/IRSPA      $35   Add one dollar if you want your handbook mailed to you.
    TRTA life members pay only the $10 local dues;  add $1 to have the handbook mailed to you.

    The Irving Retired School Personnel Association contributes many volunteer hours to the school district and to the community.  Examples of these hours include:  school tutor, classroom helper, organizations, civic volunteer, senior citizen centers, church, nursing home, committee work, hospital volunteer, adult literacy, jury duty, museum docent, airport ambassador, and caregiver for older adults or children. 
 

    In addition to the individual volunteer hours,  IRSPA has several altruistic projects each year.  Part of the local dues goes into a scholarship fund to award four $500 scholarships to future teachers.  Also, IRSPA sponsors a retirement education seminar to inform active school personnel about the Teacher Retirement System.  IRSPA donates $500 or more to one of the three early childhood schools for library books.
